Dear Friend,

Silence. That is what we got from Rishi Sunak at Prime Minister's Questions when Liz Saville Roberts, the Plaid Cymru Westminster Leader, asked the Prime Minister directly if he would sign Full Fact's honest general election pledge.

MPs on the backbenches were not much better, as the call for an honest general election campaign was met with laughter by some. To be clear, this is not a laughing matter.

Polling shows that trust in politics is at an all time low. With a general election just around the corner, politicians need to take this seriously.

Four political parties, Plaid Cymru, Alliance, SDLP, and the Green Party have already committed to sign our pledge.

Other party leaders need to take a hard look at their duty to restore trust in our democracy and sign the Full Fact pledge for honest election campaigning.

When politicians don't tell the truth, no one wins. Please support our work to ensure an honest general election by donating £15.

I have cleared my diary and I'm ready to meet with the leader of any political party who is willing to commit to an honest general election.

Best wishes,

Chris Morris—CEO, Full Fact

P.S. Don't forget to join over 15,000 people in signing our petition calling on politicians to end deceptive campaign tactics.
