Friend, please help fund our critical work for the environment and close the gap before 2/29 by joining the Sierra Club today.

Friend –

We'll be closing the books on February soon, but I'm concerned about the fundraising numbers my team just shared with me: as of today, we're not on track to hit our goal this month.

Falling short could have a major impact on the day-to-day work we're doing for the environment right now: Supporting local activists in their efforts to shut down more dirty pipelines and coal plants. Protecting millions more acres of public lands this year. Empowering community members to work within their states and local governments to drive the transition to clean, sustainable energy. Pressuring Congress to defend vulnerable species like grizzly bears and gray wolves. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Every single one of these fights matters – and we cannot afford to pull back on a single one of them.

Can you help, and become a Sierra Club member for just $15 or more right now to help us close the gap?

Sierra Club members and supporters like you make it possible for us to jump into immediate, decisive action when new threats arise. During this short month alone we've responded to a slew of attacks on the environment:

-
When Bank of America announced that it was breaking its promise not to fund oil and gas exploitation in the Arctic, we stood with local Tribal advocates and our partners to rally opposition against their reckless reversal.

-
When the fossil fuel industry launched a campaign against the Biden administration's recent decision to stop approvals of new liquefied gas exports, we called on our members to not only support the administration's move – but demand even stronger protections against deadly pollution.

-
And when the US Forest Service introduced a proposed project that would threaten crucial old growth trees and allow commercial logging of Giant Sequoia National Monument, we took them to court, where we'll keep up the urgent fight to protect our nation's priceless mature and old growth forests.

None of this grassroots work could have happened without your support – and when the fossil fuel industry and its allies strike again, we must be ready to step up and fight back. People like you determine just how hard we can work to defend our communities, our wildlife, our wild lands, and our planet.

So I'll ask you one more time, Friend: can you chip in today to close the gap? Your membership gift to the Sierra Club today will power critical work to protect frontline communities from deadly pollution, save vulnerable wildlife from extinction, and build towards the healthy, sustainable future we all deserve.

Thank you for standing with us during this critical moment for the Earth and all who inhabit it.

With gratitude,

Dan Olinger

Deputy Chief Membership Growth Officer
