Dear John,
On February 16 and 17, LCA and dedicated animal rights activists protested the Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) circus-like bull riding spectacle at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles. Over two nights, dozens of protestors demonstrated against the animal abuse inherent with bull riding. The protestors, with their posters and megaphones, could be seen and heard by all who entered the arena. Also, a video truck rented by LCA traveled the arena's nearby streets for two days playing graphic images of bulls critically injured in bull riding events.
WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!
In December 2023, the L.A. City Council voted YES, UNANIMOUSLY, in support of the Los Angeles Rodeo Ban. The Ban was then referred to the Neighborhoods and Community Enrichment Committee to finalize the language. An email LCA obtained from Western Justice, a pro-rodeo group from Wyoming opposing the Ban, states the group is making plans to travel to Los Angeles to lobby City Councilmembers to not pass the Los Angeles Rodeo Ban (to let it die in Committee).
Go here to make public comment on the Los Angeles Rodeo Ban - File #20-1575. It's simple. Just write, "I support the Los Angeles Rodeo Ban. There is no excuse for animal abuse." Then click submit at the bottom of the page. NOTE: If you have commented before you can go ahead and comment again!
WHAT IS THE RODEO INDUSTRY HIDING?
Please mark your calenders and join in as we protest bull riding at the upcoming PBR event on March 15 & 16 in Palm Desert, California, at the Acrisure Arena. Details to follow.
