Attacks like this aren't just happening in Alabama. Under the guise of protecting women and families, lawmakers with anti-abortion agendas are trying to embed this language in state codes and federal legislation related to maternal health, birth control, tax credits, child support, college savings plans, and essential safety-net programs.

This tactic has been used for YEARS. So far in 2024, over 35 bills with so-called "personhood" language have been proposed in 16 states. And right now, many members of the House majority, including the House speaker, support a federal “personhood” bill.

In the wake of the Alabama Supreme Court ruling, more people are beginning to understand: the attacks on our health and rights were never going to stop at abortion.
