Speaker Mike Johnson made “unequivocally” clear that he wants to avoid a government shutdown during a private Tuesday meeting with President Joe Biden and other congressional leaders, according to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Biden's stalled request for Ukraine aid, however, remains more in doubt, as Politico reports.

Another one of my favorite artists to listen to while I’m in Malibu is the incomparable David Crosby. His work with CSNY, CSN, and The Byrds is a given. But it’s also his solo work and 1971 album with Graham Nash that I often dial up. This track is an outtake from his first solo record “If I Could Only Remember My Name” and the ’71 record “Crosby & Nash.” It’s called “The Wall Song” and as you will hear, the outtake features Jerry Garcia on lead guitar along with the Dead’s Billy Kreutzmann on drums and Phil Lesh on bass. You can’t find it too many places. My friend Steve Silberman turned the world on to the tune by featuring it on his podcast with Croz, “Freak Flag Flying.” I save “The Wall Song” for drives through Topanga Canyon.
