John,
I want to draw your attention to a stunning stat I came across the other day. We all know about the wave of voter suppression, fear, and lies that has washed across our country since the 2020 election. We've been highlighting and fighting these bad bills and suppressive laws for years.
This new stat, however, is about the court cases that have come from all these laws passed by opponents of voting rights. Our friends at Democracy Docket, led by the incomparable election lawyer Marc Elias, dug deep and found that, in 2021, the Republican Party, led by the Republican National Committee (RNC), was a party to or led 25% of anti-voting litigation. By 2022 that number had gone up to 52% . In 2023, that number rose to 68% .
I did a double-take too, but let me assure you that you read that right: The RNC played a role in one out of every four voting lawsuits in 2021 and has driven that number above two out of every three since then. They are taking on -- and owning -- the costs and leadership associated with the voter suppression movement.
Even knowing what I know and playing a role in this fight every day, that number stuns me. The definitive proof that an entire political movement is demonstrably growing around a desire to restrict our democracy and suppress votes sharply illustrates the need for our work -- to defend access to the ballot box, register new voters, fight back against misinformation, and so much more.
Help us rebuild the foundation of our democracy, John, and make sure that every vote counts. Pitch in $25 or whatever you can today to defend our right to vote and so much more across the country >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
