Friend,
This weekend, I traveled to Ukraine with a Congressional delegation on the second anniversary of Vladimir Putin's lawless invasion.
While there, we met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other key Ukrainian leaders. It was a profound, meaningful experience.
Against all odds, the Ukrainian people have held the line for two years in their fight for democracy and freedom. They have sacrificed their lives and won battle after battle.
If we abandon them now, it will be one of the most shameful things we have done in my lifetime.
President Zelenskyy told me that his country could win this war with more assistance from the United States – and Putin is relying on Congress' political dysfunction to help him win in Ukraine.
It’s time for us to do our part.
Today, I joined Morning Joe to talk about this trip to Ukraine and the work ahead to help the Ukrainian people. Click here to watch the clip now >>
The Senate already passed a bipartisan bill that would provide critical funding for Ukraine. More than two-thirds of the Senate voted for it. House Republicans need to stop their obstruction and let this bill pass.
I won’t stop working to support the Ukrainian people in their fight for democracy. Their fight is our fight.
It is the fight of our lifetimes. Thank you, friend, for being part of the battle for democracy around the world.
