Sometimes, the truth is simple. Fossil fuel projects can’t exist without insurance. So today, rebels went suited and booted with their astounding bladder strength to occupy five buildings 👊

Insurance companies are powerful decision makers. Rishi Sunak is desperate to exploit those giant oil fields in the North Sea … but if no company will insure the oil rigs, that ain't happening!

70% of fossil fuel projects are insured by just 20 companies! Most are based in the city of London. Five were visited this morning: Tokio Marine, Probitas, Talbot, Travellers and Zurich Insurance. They, alongside 35 more companies who also received a letter from us, all heard our demands:

• Immediately cease insuring new and expanding oil and gas projects
• Only insuring projects that respect the human rights of all
• Support a just transition by increasing industry support for renewables

Today we showed that there is a choice. Insurers can actively take a stand and secure all of our futures, by using their risk management expertise to safeguard all life on our planet. We’re showing the world that it’s not worth the risk to insure oil and gas extraction. Can you help us with a gift?
