Dear John,
We know that the safest course of action to fight the spread of COVID-19 and to flatten the curve is to stay home. BUT what if your home is not safe?
During this stressful time, when people are being told to stay in their homes, we’ve already seen instances of domestic violence spiking drastically. So the work that The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence is doing right now to help women right here in Maine is more important than ever.
I know me and my team have been reaching out recently asking you to support my campaign. But today, I am pausing my campaign to bring attention to this important organization and their work. I have been working with this organization for over 30 years and I have seen firsthand the amazing work they do across Maine with support services and prevention.
Check out my video here:
I am asking you to donate to MCEDV today to ensure they have the resources to continue their important work throughout this crisis.
You can donate to MCEDV at: https://www.mcedv.org/donate/
Or you can find your local member organization here to support here: https://www.mcedv.org/get-help/
I am amazed every day by Mainers coming together to support each other during this crisis. Thank you for all you are doing, together we will make it through this.
In solidarity,
Betsy Sweet
