The Alabama Supreme Court recently ruled that frozen embryos can be considered children under state law, which could end access to IVF for families.

There are so many reasons that families turn to IVF treatment, but Republicans everywhere – including in Kansas – are trying to restrict our reproductive freedoms.

In 2022, voters in Kansas made it clear that they believe individuals have the right to make their own decisions about their bodies.

Yet even in our state, extremists in the Supermajorities introduced anti-choice legislation, again this year, meant to pull back on our right to an abortion. House Bill 2492 bans almost all forms of abortion, makes it illegal for a person in Kansas to prescribe, distribute, sell or donate medicinal abortion drugs, and allows anyone to file a civil lawsuit against anyone who pursues or contributes to an abortion.

From the IVF ruling in Alabama to our own politicians in Kansas, extremists everywhere are launching a direct attack on how and when we choose to build our own families.

We can do something about it: hard-working Democrats in Kansas are standing up for us when it comes to reproductive rights, and they need our help.
