The choice of when and how to start your family, should be just that — a choice.
Yet my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are working hard to take away that choice and roll back reproductive freedom for millions of people across the nation.
Last year, 125 of my Republican colleagues co-sponsored legislation that declared life begins at conception without ANY exceptions for in vitro fertilization treatments.
Recently, the anti-choice right has gone even further, with a ruling from the Supreme Court of Alabama saying that the frozen embryos used in IVF are “unborn children,'' putting the procedure at risk.
Hundreds of thousands of families across the nation use IVF to begin their journey of parenthood, and I promise, as long as I’m in this seat, I won’t stop fighting to protect your reproductive freedoms.
But I can’t lie, if we fall short of our goals this month, our campaign may fall behind. I’ve always stood as a champion for reproductive choice, and it’s time that we had a House majority that reflects how the majority of Americans feel on the issue. Can I count on you to pitch in $10 right now to help our team win this November?
