I come from a challenging beginning.

My biological father left my mother while she was pregnant with me, the youngest of three boys. Mom was uneducated, unemployed, and without much of a support system.

Despite the odds and what had to be a great deal of pressure to pursue an abortion, my mom chose life. I am blessed by her desire to overcome her challenges.

Thank you for your partnership and prayer for Americans United for Life, and our shared mission. Your generosity and dedication have accomplished so much amazing, life-saving work.

I hope you received my recent letter in the mail detailing some of our upcoming work in abortion-related Supreme Court cases this spring. Oral arguments will begin in March and AUL will soon be filing our amicus brief for the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine cases later this week.

Just two months into the year, our team has testified around the country against life-destroying abortion and physician-assisted suicide bills. This Thursday, I will stand for life in Colorado against a bill that would remove the residency requirement for physician-assisted suicide and expand the providers allowed to participate in it to advance practice nurses.

This issue is close to my heart, as just last year, my wife's cousin travelled to another country to end her own life after a challenging diagnosis.

The lives of our unborn children, our sick, and our elderly are being rejected. As our Founding Fathers and the Declaration of Independence teach, life is our most precious gift, yet it is being eroded on all sides.
