For PEAK President and CEO Satonya Fair, philanthropy’s work begins and ends with love. However, as she shares here, moving the field forward requires us to lean into a few hard truths, focus on people-centered change, and take collaborative action in order to realize equity and opportunity for all.

** Strategic Shifts in Our Peer Networks
------------------------------------------------------------

In the spirit of emergent learning, PEAK formed peer groups in 2021 to offer members more ways to connect with one another. After taking time to reflect on the impact of our groups and listen to and learn from our member and volunteer leaders’ feedback, we are pleased to share how we are reimagining our peer groups to best serve the needs of our members as our organization continues to evolve.

** PEAK Is Platinum Again
------------------------------------------------------------

Year after year, PEAK maintains Candid’s Guidestar top recognition—joining the less than one percent of Platinum Seal-certified nonprofits who are demonstrating a commitment to transparency and sharing results.

Foundations can earn seals too! Congratulations if your organization is already certified, and if not, we challenge you to spur the change we want to see in having more funders commit to transparency.

** PEER LEARNING

** Announcing Our Second Mentorship Pilot Program
------------------------------------------------------------

We are delighted to announce the second iteration of our PEAK mentorship pilot program, in collaboration with PEAK New England!

The PEAK New England mentoring program seeks to bring together a group of mentors and mentees who have diverse lived experiences both within and beyond the workplace. The program will focus on cultivating peer learning within pairs of mentors and mentees, as well as a cohort and include opportunities to grow your professional network with other program participants. The second pilot begins July 15 and will run for 12 months.

We are excited to apply the learnings we gained in 2022 from our first successful pilot program in partnership with PEAK Northeast to this next phase. While this pilot is limited to our New England Chapter, PEAK is continuing to explore creative ideas to bring coaching and mentorship to our broader community throughout the year.

We’d like to thank the PEAK New England Chapter leadership team who are coleading this pilot program with us!

If you have questions regarding the mentorship program, please reach out to Senior Community Engagement Manager Altinay Cortes at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=PEAK%20Mentorship%20Program) .

** Peer Network Spotlight
------------------------------------------------------------

PEAK offers members diverse peer spaces for learning, sharing, and evolving in our thriving chapters ([link removed]) andpeer groups ([link removed]) . Each month, we showcase the meaningful programming and networking taking place in these volunteer-led spaces and how the PEAK team is supporting their work. Stay up to date on upcoming meetings by checking PEAK’s events calendar ([link removed]) .

Our chapters have been hard at work facilitating knowledge sharing opportunities for members. To help prepare members for attending PEAK2024, both PEAK Midwest and PEAK Northeast each hosted sessions this month where they shared tips and advice for making the most of your time during the convening. And for all chapter and peer group members, we’ll soon share a full PEAK2024 meeting schedule online and in the convening app.

In addition, PEAK Southwest hosted their first knowledge swap where members offered support to one another in helping each other stay focused on achieving their 2024 goals. Throughout the year, they will send reminders to check in with each other year to catch up on how they’re progressing on their goals.

** PEAK in Community
------------------------------------------------------------

Here’s the latest on how PEAK is engaging with member organizations, partners, nonprofits, and allies in advocating for transformative change and leading the way in advancing equitable and effective grantmaking practices.

Last month, President and CEO Satonya Fair participated in the United Philanthropy Forum's annual CEO Winter Gathering, where CEOs from issue-focused, regional, and national philanthropy-supporting and -mobilizing organizations convened to align on priorities and ensure they are informed on each other's goals for the year, and to celebrate Dave Biemesderfer on his retirement.
