John,
If it feels like it has been a long month, that’s because it has!
This month has seen a lot of highs and lows as we continue to build a campaign that fights to protect reproductive freedoms, defend our democracy, and invest in our communities. Here’s just a few of the things that have happened:
✅ We filed hundreds of signatures to qualify for the ballot and run for re-election, so we can continue the important work we’ve been doing over the last year.
✅ Gov. Shapiro announced my medical debt relief initiative as a priority for him in this year’s budget, which will help hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians directly and reduce the cost of healthcare for the entire state.
❌ Abortion rights remain under attack - This month the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that people don’t have the freedom to choose to have a family through IVF. As a doctor and a father, this horrifies me.
❌ Pennsylvania’s richest man continues to spend millions against me and others in frontline districts to enact his plan to defund public education and raise property taxes so that he can profit off of our kids’ education. I called him out in my telephone town hall.
Leap day means we have one extra day to hit our end of month fundraising goal - But I need your help.
I’m fighting for priorities that Pennsylvanians believe in: protecting reproductive freedoms, defending our democracy, and investing in our communities. Can you chip in $25, $50 or $100 today to help me continue fighting for Pennsylvanians?
With Thanks,
State Rep. Arvind Venkat, MD
