West Olive, Michigan ? On Monday, February 26, the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners and Health Officer Adeline Hambley came to a mutual agreement, subject to court approval. In summary, the terms state:
- The Board will dismiss the MCL 46.11(n) removal hearing.
- All legal issues between the parties will be resolved and Ms. Hambley will continue in her role as Health Officer, as previously decided by the Appeals Court.
- No financial payment will be made to Ms. Hambley.
- A determination of whether attorney fees shall be awarded in this case shall be decided by Judge McNeil of the Muskegon County Circuit Court.
- If there are any future actions related to Ms. Hambley's performance as Health Officer that require an MCL 46.11(n) hearing, the review will be handled by a three-person arbitration panel through January 7, 2025.
