As you may know, we’ve launched Her Bold Move Florida to join a bipartisan coalition working to pass a constitutional amendment protecting access to abortion statewide.

Many of you have expressed an interest in learning how we, a national endorsement organization, are involved with the effort in Florida. We’ll break it down below:

We are an official partner organization working with the Florida Women's Freedom Coalition. This committee has been raising the necessary dollars to (successfully!) fund the petition drive and is now working to fund voter outreach efforts + the legal fees associated with defending the amendment against the Florida GOP. Every dollar we raise for Her Bold Move Florida is sent directly to FWFC and is used to fund this fight.

While Her Bold Move is a national organization working to support pro-choice women candidates up and down the ballot (especially in states with abortion bans), we’ve been proud to extend support to ballot initiatives across the country. We’re excited to say that this is just the beginning.

I hope this clarifies who we are and how we fit into the equation. Now, we need your help:

We are anticipating a brutal fight in Florida, and in order to stay on track to support this effort, we need to raise an additional $5,000 before the end of the month. Will you rush $20.24 or more to Her Bold Move Florida today?

According to our partners in Florida, here are the next steps:

Step 1: The Florida Supreme Court heard oral arguments about the ballot language on February 7. We are still waiting to hear whether or not they will sign off on the ballot language. This is the final hurdle to actually get the initiative on the ballot.

Step 2: We will need to help raise funds for research, polling, and, importantly, legal fees, as the Florida GOP has assured us that they will wage a bitter legal war against this initiative. Your support today will help us defend against these attacks and map out the path to victory.

Step 3: Once the measure is on the ballot, it will require support from at least 60% of voters. Recent similar ballot measures have shown us that when abortion is on the ballot, voters show up to defend their rights. But turning out 60% of voters will be a challenge. We need to help launch a massive field program to ensure that voters are informed, engaged, and committed to casting their ballots in November.
