Friend —
I'm reaching out this morning with a last-ditch request for a contribution to my campaign. I'll be honest with you: Thursday is not an official fundraising deadline, but it is a very important day in our fundraising plan.
Here's how it works: campaigns like ours have to report our numbers each quarter to the FEC (the next one is March 31, 2024). But in between those quarterly FEC deadlines, we have important internal monthly fundraising goals to meet in order to stay on track to defend Michigan's Senate seat for Democrats.
Our campaign is relying on a large number of individual contributions if we're going to have the resources to win this race, and our number one source of those individual contributions is through emails like this one.
If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly:
The public polling in this race so far has shown this Senate race in Michigan is a dead heat, with a lot of voters still undecided. That’s who we need to get to. And if we don't stay on track to meet our fundraising goals, it delays us talking to crucial voters early – especially in places outside of my current congressional district. I need to introduce myself to the 10 million people in Michigan, and an early introduction could be the difference between winning or losing in November.
Thank you,
Elissa Slotkin
