Supreme Court's Clarence Thomas hires clerk accused of racist conduct
In perhaps the least surprising story of the week, US Supreme Court Justice and luxury vacation enthusiast Clarence Thomas has hired a law clerk who was accused of brazenly racist conduct while she worked at a conservative nonprofit organization that included sending a text message that stated, "I HATE BLACK PEOPLE ... I hate blacks. End of story." Prior to her hiring, Crystal Clanton (seriously) worked for fellow radical, right-wing hate-spewer Charlie Kirk as a national field director for conservative student-indoctrination group Turning Point USA. But wait, there's more! Clanton also previously worked for Thomas' wife and noted conspiracy fanatic Ginni, and even once lived with the Thomases. Incredible.

Jon Stewart offers serious solution to Israel-Palestine conflict: "Anything is better than the clusterf*uck we have now"
The Daily Show veteran ventured into radioactive territory for late night TV in his third episode back in the host's chair, and he just may have come up with a solution for the Israel-Palestine quagmire. Stewart touched on many aspects of the war between Israel and Hamas, which has resulted in tens of thousands of civilian deaths in Gaza at the hands of Israel’s military, and poked stadium-sized holes in the United States' performative moral posturing from the sidelines before offering up a solution that makes so much sense it obviously won't ever be implemented: "Starting now, no preconditions, no earned trust, no partners for peace, Israel stops bombing. Hamas releases the hostages. The Arab countries who claim Palestine as their top priority, come in and form a demilitarized zone between Israel and a free Palestinian state. The Saudis, Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, they all form like a NATO arrangement guaranteeing security for both sides. Obviously, they won’t call it NATO. It’s the Middle East treaty. It’s METO! Tweet it out! METO! Tonight, people, let’s get this region METO’ed."

Libs of TikTok’s Chaya Raichik exposed as ignorant hypocrite in stunning, cringe-worthy interview
The internet lit up over the weekend when a 53-minute long interview with right-wing extremist and anti-LGBTQ gutter troll Chaya Raichik went viral. One of the most revealing moments came when Raichik predictably admitted to having no personal acquaintances within the LGBTQ+ community, a marginalized group she has relentlessly attacked and endangered for years with impunity. The admission was startling, not for its rarity in conservative circles, but for the stark contrast it drew between Raichik’s profound influence on the public discourse surrounding LGBTQ+ issues and her complete and total lack of direct engagement with individuals from the community. Funny how that (always) works.

US airman dies after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy
Aaron Bushnell, 25, died in the hospital after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, on Sunday in a startling act of protest against Israel's war in Gaza and the United States' continued backing of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe. Bushnell was an active duty member of the US Air Force and based in San Antonio, Texas. Leading up to the incident, Bushnell said in a livestreamed video that he "will no longer be complicit in genocide." Later, as he burned in front of the Israeli Embassy, Bushnell could be seen on the livestream yelling, "Free Palestine!"
Prosecutors in hush money case seek partial gag order on Trump ahead of his New York criminal trial
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is wisely seeking an order barring the disgraced ex-president from attacking witnesses, individual prosecutors, and court staff members in the upcoming trial, because — as we have all seen time and time again — the 77-year-old tantrum thrower is utterly incapable of holding his tongue for even the briefest of spells.

Trump appeals fraud case as $112,000-a-day interest accrues
The disgraced ex-president was slapped with a historic $355 million judgment earlier this month, but the amount has soared with interest, which will keep accruing by at least $112,000 per day. New York Attorney General Letitia James has said if Trump does not pay — and who are we kidding, the con man definitely isn't going to pay — she will seek to seize some of his prized assets. Couldn't be happening to a more deserving guy...
Explosive device is detonated outside Alabama attorney general's office
Police detonated an explosive device outside Attorney General Steve Marshall's office on Saturday — the very next day after Marshall announced he would refuse to prosecute women for receiving IVF treatments in the wake of the state Supreme Court's preposterous ruling that assigned legal personhood to embryos. While police are investigating and Marshall's office cautioned the nation “not to jump to conclusions about a specific issue," it's worth noting that, since 1977, there have been 11 murders, 42 bombings, 200 arsons, 531 assaults, 492 clinic invasions, 375 burglaries, and thousands of other incidents of criminal activities directed at reproductive care patients, providers, and volunteers.
MAGA rep who abruptly ended Senate campaign accused of impregnating 20-year-old staffer by former Sen. Heidi Heitkamp
63-year-old Rep. Matt Rosendale’s office is threatening legal action against former Sen. Heitkamp after she said on a podcast that he abruptly dropped out of the Senate race to take on Jon Tester because he impregnated a 20-year-old staffer. Heitkamp, a Democrat who lost her seat to Sen. Kevin Cramer in 2018, made the allegation during an appearance on the “Talking Feds with Harry Litman” podcast. Rosendale dropped out of the race a few days ago, about a week after he officially announced he would run. It’s still unclear if he plans to seek reelection to his House seat.
