Dear Friend,

It’s Public Schools Week, a time to honor the importance of public schools as a unifying force in our diverse society. One important way to defend public education and church-state separation is to fight against private school voucher programs.

Private school vouchers divert desperately needed public resources away from our public schools to fund tuition at private, mostly religious schools. Vouchers don’t improve student achievement and lack basic accountability and oversight standards. And private voucher schools often discriminate against students with disabilities, LGBTQ+ students, students from minority religions, and nonreligious students.

This Public Schools Week, we need your help: Urge your legislators to reject private school vouchers and support public schools: [link removed]

Our public schools accept all students, regardless of religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic. Public schools serve as the backbone of our communities and are attended by nearly 90% of American students. We would better serve all kids by using funds to make public education stronger instead of funneling money into voucher programs.

Friend, we’re fighting back, but we need your help! Your legislators need to hear from you.

Act now to tell your legislators that they should protect public education by rejecting private school voucher bills: [link removed]

Public funds belong in public schools.

Thanks for raising your voice to protect public education and religious freedom!
