- On Feb. 13, the House successfully impeached Mayorkas for the irreparable damage he has done to U.S. sovereignty, security, and the rule of law.
- Now it’s the Senate’s turn to hold Mayorkas accountable by conducting a legitimate impeachment trial to examine the evidence in detail in front of the American people.
- Mayorkas has had three years to change course to secure the border and protect Americans, but he hasn’t. Instead, he’s only grown more deceitful about his operations.
- He has hid from Americans night flights to secretly dump illegal aliens into unprepared American communities, given billions of U.S. tax dollars to secretive NGOs, and now, he demands more taxpayer dollars in a supplemental funding package to refill the NGOs’ empty coffers and pay off the sanctuary cities that are sheltering illegal aliens.
- Americans deserve a real Senate impeachment trial of Alejandro Mayorkas.
- Dismissing or tabling the impeachment, sending it to a trial committee to languish, or holding a one-day trial would all be unacceptable options.

- Last week, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that embryos created through in vitro fertilization are considered unborn children in the state and are accorded legal protection against disposal.
- This decision ensures that the well-being of children, not financial gain, is the top priority when it comes to IVF and embryonic cryopreservation.
- As news of the state supreme court's decision spreads, many warn that it could threaten access to IVF or place undue burdens on fertility clinics, but that’s not what the decision says.
- The state supreme court didn't outlaw IVF; it simply recognized that embryonic children are persons under the law.
- This ruling merely ensures that parents using the service can rest assured that their children will receive the same legal protections as everyone else's.
- Lawmakers around the country should see this decision as an opportunity to put the well-being of innocent children first.

- Marking the 30th anniversary of the Index of Economic Freedom, The Heritage Foundation released the 2024 edition of its annual Index of Economic Freedom.
- Launched in 1995, the Index evaluates countries in four broad policy areas that affect economic freedom: rule of law, government size, regulatory efficiency, and open markets.
- The findings of the 2024 index are resounding: conserving and further enhancing the institutions of economic freedom is the key to true human empowerment and development.
- Singapore held its position as the world's most-free economy, Switzerland followed closely behind at second, and Ireland (3), Taiwan (4), and newly elevated Luxembourg (5) rounded out the top five.
- The United States' once-esteemed "mostly free" ranking continues to diminish, this year reaching the lowest level in the 30-year history of the Index.
- It’s time to pursue and implement policies that put our freedom, prosperity, and security first for a better and greater future.
