John,

If you've gone out to pray at your local 40 Days for Life campaign this Lent, you've probably seen that women aren't exactly eager to exercise their "right to choose."

Most women who get abortions do so as a result of panic, fear, pressure, and even coercion.

But don’t take our word for it. A new peer-reviewed study from the Charlotte Lozier Institute shows that more than two-thirds of women who've had abortions didn’t want to.

Recently on The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we took a close look at the research showing that women don't get abortions because they're pro-choice; they get abortions because they feel they have no choice.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The 40 Days for Life campaign in the Steel City regularly hosts a prayer procession to Planned Parenthood...and it just keeps getting bigger!

"We had approximately 300 people join," wrote Nikki, the longtime campaign leader in Pittsburgh. "We are blessed!"

This year's procession drew the attention of some abortion supporters, who protested outside the church where the procession began. One sign read, "Religion has no place in healthcare." (That protester might want to do some homework to find out the Christian origins of health care!)

While the demonstrators were noisy, they couldn't dampen the spirits of the hundreds of pro-lifers witnessing to the truth!

Hungary

Hungarians spent decades oppressed by the heavy hand of communism--and all the human rights abuses that accompany it.

They're not eager to go back, which is why the country is home to FIVE different 40 Days for Life campaigns.

"I know God is opening doors," wrote Magdi in Budapest.

The campaign is also going well in Debrecen. "The Holy Spirit has provided us much help, as all our days have been full [of prayer warriors on the schedule] so far," wrote Anita. "We hope that our prayers will also help save lives!"

Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men." Then they abandoned their nets and followed him.

--Mark 1:17-18

Lord, we pray that you might grant each of us the courage to follow your will, regardless of the personal cost. You made your disciples Simon and Andrew into “fishers of men” so that they could bring other people closer to you. Help us to do the same. We ask that you bless all people in the pro-life movement by reminding them that you are with them. Help them to carry out their earthly mission in a way that reflects your eternal love. Amen.

For life,
