I was born and raised in Orange County, and it’s where my husband and I now raise our three children.After our nation took an unimaginable turn in the 2016 election, I was spurred into action and founded Women for American Values and Ethics (WAVE) -- a woman-led, grassroots organization dedicated to advancing progressive values and ethics.

What started as 21 women in my living room grew into a force several thousand strong in Orange County, and organizing efforts played a key role in flipping four Orange County congressional seats from red to blue.But John, things have changed since the Blue Wave of 2018.Only one of the four congressional Democrats we elected is left defending their seat.Following the pandemic, the Orange County community we love and hoped would become a model for change instead saw a spike in extremism, anti-Asian and anti-Semitic racism, and homophobic policies. With Republicans in control of Congress, we've seen horrific attacks on our fundamental rights — including our right to choose.

If we’re going to protect our progress, we need to re-energize the grassroots who set the Blue Wave in motion.
