On Friday, the GOP-controlled Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos in test tubes are now considered children.
Now, the 1 in 6 families that struggle with infertility, and their doctors, may be open to civil or criminal prosecution in Alabama for using in vitro fertilization to have a baby.1
The GOP is trying to avoid public backlash for the ruling — even Trump has called on Alabama lawmakers to protect families ungergoing IVF treatment. But this is exactly what they’ve been working towards since attacking Roe v. Wade.
The push to undermine our reproductive rights is coming directly from a patriarchal, theocracy movement in the Republican Party. They’re going after IVF. Contraception. Even ‘recreational sex’. And they must be stopped.
