Lauren Underwood For Congress

John,

We’re just five days from a potential government shutdown that would impact critical programs like WIC, the federal Special Supplemental Program for Women, Infants, and Children.

Last week, Lauren toured a local clinic in Joliet, Illinois that provides nutritional services to women and infants, emphasizing the need for continued and additional funding for such lifesaving programs.

No family should have to worry about being able to access healthy meals. But as the cost of food rises, Republican dysfunction in Congress could threaten two million people enrolled in WIC, which has received bipartisan support for most of its existence.

One thing is clear: Republicans are not fit to lead. We must take back the House from GOP control in November so we can continue to build on the progress made over decades for programs like WIC.

While Republicans prevent progress and refuse to work to avoid a shutdown, we are moving full steam ahead to continue fundraising to win the House before our end-of-month FEC deadline.

We’re 83% of the way to our February fundraising goal. Can you chip in by Thursday to support Lauren’s campaign and our work to take back the House?
