Do you think “two is better than one,”?
Special Olympics Thailand athletes Sitthiphon and Sittikon Phisajarn – who are identical twin brothers and fierce competitors on the track – certainly think so! After years of struggling in school in their rural community, where support for young students with intellectual disabilities (ID) isn’t as common, the Phisajarn twins found a new school AND the excitement and opportunities of Special Olympics.
Both Sitthiphon and Sittikon are natural talents as runners and long jumpers. Special Olympics gave them the chance to grow closer as brothers and athletes, make lots of new friends, and push themselves to achieve what they NEVER thought possible: Competing side-by-side and even against each other at the Berlin World Games last summer!
The most unlikely and inspiring of victories (Sittiphon, for one, collected a few gold medals in Berlin!) are only possible because supporters like you pass the baton of hope to people with ID in your own community and all over the world. Athletes like the Phisajarn twins can win the GOLD, overcome hardship, and become role models for others thanks to sustained giving and deep investments in our programs and athletes.
We are beyond grateful for your past support and hope you consider upgrading your commitment today by becoming a monthly donor. Now’s a great time, too: Your first THREE monthly gifts will be 2X MATCHED if you start your gift before the end of the month! “I want a society where people accept me for who I am, where I get an equal chance to get a job and make lots of friends.” - Sitthiphon Phisajarn

Since our start over 55 years ago, Special Olympics has welcomed millions of exceptional new athletes and eager new families like the Phisajarns. What began in the Maryland backyard of Eunice Kennedy Shriver as an engaging summer camp for young people with ID has taken root in every corner of the world, from Thailand to your hometown, for people of all ages and abilities.
But what hasn’t changed is the power of sports to bring people of different backgrounds together. What hasn’t changed is our supporters’ belief that every SINGLE person with ID should have a chance to compete, connect with others, and be their happiest selves – on and off the field, and for their whole lives.
Your past shows of support mean the world to our athletes. Will you continue your legacy of giving and pass this baton of hope to the next generation of athletes in your community ready to get in the game? Start a monthly gift now and our valued partner Procter & Gamble will match your first three gifts, DOUBLING your impact for Special Olympics athletes for the next three months >>> 2X Match: Give Monthly >> [link removed]
