Team –

The last few weeks have been momentous in our fight for fair maps. Let’s take a quick look at the highlights:

FIRST: In Louisiana, the state’s congressional map was redrawn to finally allow Black voters, who make up one-third of the state’s population, to have the opportunity to elect candidates of their choice through an additional district.

THEN: In Wisconsin, Governor Tony Evers signed into law new state legislative maps, marking an end to one of the most gerrymandered legislatures in the country.

NOW: We have our sights set on the next breakthrough for fair maps, with efforts ongoing in Michigan, Florida, and other states across the country.

BUT: We can't just look forward. Proponents of rigged maps are attacking our progress — in Louisiana, they filed a suit to throw out the new black-opportunity district won through fair maps litigation.

We must protect those hard-fought victories AND prepare to fight the battles ahead of us. There's no way we can do all of those things without your help.

Our movement has to not only be able to defend our progress, like fighting back against desperate efforts to block fair maps from being enacted in Louisiana. But we also have to be ready to go on offense everywhere we can — that’s the only way we can ensure that our democracy grows stronger and more representative.

It’s always been a big job, but it’s possible because supporters like you are part of it.

So as we gear up for work that will help defend our democracy this year, we’re counting on your support again. Can you rush a donation of $20 to NDRC today? [[link removed]]
