John,

Are you wondering who the winners and losers are in the latest COVID-19 stimulus package?

As expected from a Mitch McConnell-crafted bill, more than half (54%) of the aid goes to corporations and businesses. There is NOT nearly enough provided to protect workers’ jobs and lost pay and to aid working families with nutrition, housing and other critical services.

But there is some good news, too. Thanks to your advocacy and the strong leadership of our allies in Congress, the bill includes sorely-needed assistance for working people, such as bigger cash payments and a major expansion of unemployment insurance to put money in the pockets of workers who are getting laid-off or losing their jobs.

This emergency aid bill begins to provide vital funding for hospitals and state and local governments on the frontline of the crisis.

Clearly, this is only the beginning. We’ll need more aid for working families and corporate accountability to ensure corporate bailout money supports workers, not wealthy CEOs and shareholders.

This month you can support ATF without opening your wallet as we fight together to ensure that the next round of financial assistance holds corporations accountable to the American people. Click here to vote for ATF in this month’s CREDO voting. We’re currently at 28%. If we can reach 33%, we’ll receive $50,000 in funding from our generous friends at CREDO.

Thank you for all that you do to demand a tax system and an economy that puts working people first.
