Last year, we saw the Voting Rights Act go through a number of
conservative legal challenges in the courts — and that won’t be stopping
anytime soon.^1
At the start of this election year, there were already 3 new right-wing
legal arguments against the Voting Rights Act.^2 It’s clear that to
protect our right to vote, Congress must step in and act decisively.

Together, these bills would ensure that every eligible voter, no matter
their background or residence — from Latino neighborhoods in Texas to
Native American tribes throughout the country, to African American
communities in Alabama — can freely access the voting booth and are
safeguarded from GOP legislative actions that seek to undermine
democracy.^3
It’s critical that our government does everything in its power to protect
the equal opportunity to participate through voting, a necessity to our
democracy’s health and integrity.
It’s Congress’ duty to uphold the freedom to vote by passing these bills
to reinforce and expand the protections of our voting rights! We need your
help to remind them of their duty.
