John,

When Wes Moore and Aruna Miller ran for office, they ran on the promise to bring change to Maryland — and the newly announced State Plan does just that.

Earlier this month, the Moore-Miller administration laid out its vision and strategies to accomplish ten priorities:

1. Ending child poverty
2. Setting students up for success
3. Creating an equitable, robust, and competitive economy
4. Connecting Marylanders to jobs
5. Creating safer communities
6. Making Maryland a desirable and affordable home for all residents
7. Advancing infrastructure to connect Marylanders with each other and share more opportunities
8. Ensuring world-class health systems for Marylanders
9. Making Maryland a leader in clean energy and the greenest state in the country
10. Making Maryland a state that serves

This is the first State Plan in almost a decade. We can set up specific metrics to track our progress with these targets. We’re expecting to announce key performance in early 2025 — and we’re looking forward to sharing just how much progress we’ve been able to accomplish since announcing the State Plan.

Along with the 2024 legislative agenda, Aruna and Wes are committed to following through on their vision to ensure this is Maryland’s decade.

We have a lot to accomplish, so let’s get to work.

In solidarity,

Team Moore
