Dear friend,
A few days ago, my team wrote to you about the ongoing court battle over Mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion medication that’s been prescribed for decades which is in danger of being banned by the far-right Supreme Court majority.
Now, we’re seeing yet another attack on our reproductive rights, this time against in vitro fertilization – or IVF – as the Alabama Supreme Court just ruled that embryos in test tubes should be considered children.
I’ll be honest, this news hits very close to home for me. That’s why I sat down with Politico last week to discuss the repercussions of this disastrous ruling. Click here to read the article. [[link removed]]

Like many couples in America, my husband Dave and I faced difficulties with conceiving. We knew that IVF was our last hope of starting a family, and we were incredibly fortunate that it ultimately brought us our two beautiful daughters. The journey was incredibly difficult – more difficult than most women will say – and there were moments when it felt almost impossible. But IVF gave us hope, and for that, I will always be grateful.
Every woman deserves the right to make decisions about her own body and reproductive health without fear of criminalization or interference. It's unacceptable that in 2024, women are still being denied access to essential health care services like IVF due to outdated and discriminatory laws.
Yet, this is the new reality in the post- Roe world. For years, we warned that the far-right would not just stop with overturning the right to an abortion. Since Dobbs , they’ve been working to pass a nationwide abortion ban, ban access to Mifepristone, limit access to contraception, and now, IVF is also under attack.
As your representative in Congress, I pledge to you that I will never stop fighting for reproductive rights and ensuring that every woman has the freedom to make choices about her own body and her family’s future. I know news like this can be disheartening, but together, we must stand strong against these attacks and continue working to secure access to reproductive health care for all.
Thank you for standing with me in this important fight. Your support and solidarity mean the world to me.
