John,
Anti-choice politicians know how popular abortion is, and that’s why they’re increasingly trying to hide the ball on this issue.
In Nevada, GOP Senate candidate Sam Brown has begun using his wife’s abortion story as campaign fodder, and has pledged not to support a national ban if elected—despite his years-long anti-choice record.
And Speaker of the House Mike Johnson recently released a statement disparaging the heartbreaking Alabama Supreme Court decision affecting IVF—while also co-sponsoring legislation that would nationalize the same rules.
So while MAGA political operatives try to rewrite history and hide their intentions, we’re here to level-set: only four states, plus DC, have codified the right to an abortion throughout pregnancy. That means that we have a lot of work to do, and we cannot afford to invest in candidates that aren’t truly, holistically pro-choice.
Coming out against a national abortion ban is not anywhere near enough. We need politicians who:
- Understand that bodily autonomy is a foundational right that should never hinge on identity, geography, or financial status
- Work to tear down the barriers that prevent patients from accessing abortion, even in states where it’s legal
- Know that people need abortions at all different stages of pregnancy, and will ensure that patients who need abortions later in pregnancy are not left behind
- Believe in everyone’s right to raise a healthy, thriving family in a safe community
We support candidates who are unapologetically pro-choice, and who are ready to fight like hell for these ideals. We’re ready to get them elected, and we’re so grateful to have you on our team.
Thanks for being a pro-choice voter,
