now, and we’re still monitoring developments closely. But meanwhile,
Republicans aren’t slowing down on their re-election ambitions, and their
response to this crisis is making it clearer than ever that we can’t let
them win this November. That’s why we’re sending you this email today --

Can you say “hypocrite”? Last week, Mitch McConnell’s re-election campaign
released a statement calling Amy McGrath, frontrunner in the Democratic
primary to unseat him, “shameful” for continuing to run political ads
during the coronavirus outbreak.

But his campaign booked over half a million in ads just days later -- and
on Monday, Politico reported that a McConnell-aligned super PAC is
spending more than $67 million on advertising through the fall to support
six vulnerable Republican senators.

This is yet another drop in the huge bucket of proof that Mitch McConnell
and the GOP are more interested in power than in serving the people.

Republicans in the Senate are actively fighting for legislation that
prioritizes corporate profits over people’s lives and health -- and
fighting against provisions to strengthen our democracy’s ability to cope
with this crisis.

Not only that, but they’re also fighting hard to stay in office so they
can keep giving away our democracy to the highest bidder. This proves,
more than ever, why we can’t stop fighting back.

We know you’re focused on staying safe and healthy -- we are too -- but we
need to come out on the other side of this with a more resilient and more
responsive democratic system. That starts with kicking the worst offenders
-- like Mitch McConnell and co. -- out of office this November.

That’s why we started the Payback Project a few months ago. And though a
lot has changed since then, the important parts haven’t: we’re building up
the grassroots power (digitally!) and organizing local communities to win
in key Senate races across the country.

But, like all our work, it takes a movement to make it happen. Together,
