I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling ready for spring—longer days, warm sunshine, and trips to the playground with my girls. I can only imagine how long these dark winter nights can feel for our brothers and sisters behind bars. I’m so grateful for the ways you help us serve them and show them their worth and potential in every season, no matter how dark.
We know every facility is different, and the needs of every population are often unique. With support from friends like you, Prison Fellowship is providing high-quality resources to incarcerated men and women far and wide, even if they’re still waiting for their chance to join a program like the Academy.
The Storehouse is our online marketplace for completely free resources like Bibles, devotionals, recovery materials, and other media, including books like The Life and Teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, Mark Batterson’s The Circle Maker, and Rick Warren’s The Purpose Driven Life. We also have a dedicated team of chaplain resource managers ready to help.
There’s a strong demand for Bibles in prisons—especially the large-print, easy-to-read Inside Journal Life Recovery Bible. Its additional content and context make it a highly sought-after resource. We want to continue delivering Bibles in both English and Spanish to as many men and women behind bars as possible. There are people who have seen a fellow prisoner’s copy and desire their own. Here’s what they’ve said:
“I am a Christian and am currently incarcerated. I was told you would send me an Inside Journal Life Recovery Bible and workbook. I would appreciate it. I am starved for time in God’s Word. Please send these to me and keep me in your prayers. Thank you and God bless!” —Jennifer, incarcerated woman in Idaho
“Recently I received an Inside Journal Life Recovery Bible, and I must say, reading and studying it is pure joy. I have never understood the Bible as clearly as I do with this version. May God bless you always!” —Keith, incarcerated man in Ohio
“I’ve tried everything to change my life and still lost everything. I have literally tried everything except give my life to God … I need help with this. So, I would like to request your Bible study course, so that I can learn and grow closer to God, I feel like He is the key to my life.” —Michael, incarcerated man in Nebraska
Floodlight, our in-prison digital media platform, is making life-giving content available to more than 570,000 incarcerated men and women in nearly all 50 states. Through Floodlight, we provide access to content like The Chosen, a historical drama based on the life of Jesus. One incarcerated man named Daniel said he’s seen men break down in tears because, even though they can’t read, they can see the Gospel come to life onscreen.
“I can see it, and I can relate to it in tandem with the Bible,” said Daniel. (Watch this video to hear more of his powerful testimony.)
We have an enormous opportunity to continue being part of what God is doing, and it takes all of us to make a lasting difference. Your prayers and support make new futures possible, one story at a time. Thank you for joining us!
Serving Him with you,
HEATHER RICE-MINUS President and CEO
