I was reflecting this morning, and it made me think about the greatest acts of kindness you can do for your country: public service.

One of my favorite Americans, President John F. Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," – I leaned heavily on those words when making my decision to run for office in 2022.

We ended up losing that fight by just 1,600 votes, and John James got the green light to enact his far-right agenda.

We saw John James strip abortion rights down to nothing, allow drilling in the Great Lakes and contaminate our water quality, and serve as a mouthpiece for Trump's agenda.

My love for Michigan means standing up for economic opportunity, unions, education, our Great Lakes, and our democracy. That's my motivation behind defeating John James, and it's how I intend on giving back to my country.
