WorkWorkWhy We Should All Hope the U.S. Doesn't Manage to Extradite Julian Assange I am not a fan of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. If he’s not a Russian spy, he has certainly behaved like one on a number of occasions. His careless manner of flooding the internet with classified documents has cost the lives of dissidents and informants whose names he left unredacted. Several of his erstwhile followers have come to distrust and abandon him, for good reason.

WorkYep, you are living in a Nvidia-led tech bubble My hair is thinning. I don't wake up at 1:45 a.m. each day with the same fiery energy to obsess over markets and stocks. I am down to eating red meat three times a month "just because" it's what people have told me is the right thing to do at this point in life. Work

WorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkCan a Tech Giant Be Woke? The month after the union election, Microsoft announced that it would stay neutral if any of Activision’s roughly 7,000 eligible employees sought to unionize with the Communications Workers of America — meaning the company would not try to stop the organizing, unlike most employers. Microsoft later said that it would extend the deal to studios it already owned. QPR have said they are planning a \"fitting tribute\" to \"a darling of the Loftus Road terraces [and] undoubtedly one of the greatest players to have ever pulled on the famous blue and white hoops.\" -- Mike Wise WorkIn on the Joke at the First-Ever Florida Man Games But Florida Man has been a cultural phenomenon for so long that some in Florida and beyond have spent quite a bit of time thinking about what it means, how to challenge it and what it says about the state’s identity. Maybe the games in St. Augustine could also be an excuse to explore the evolution of the meme — and of Florida itself. WorkWorkSpending Impasse Persists Amid G.O.P. Resistance as Partial Shutdown Looms Now, with patience wearing thin among ultraconservatives, pressure is mounting on Mr. Johnson, whose members want him to secure major cuts and policy changes that have no chance of enactment with Democrats in control of the Senate and White House. Lawmakers in the House, which has been out of session for the past week, are set to return to Washington on Wednesday, just two days before a deadline on Friday to fund military construction, agriculture, transportation and housing programs. WorkWorkWorkWorkWorkAfter South Carolina, Trump’s March to the Nomination Quickens With his victory on Saturday, Mr. Trump has swept all the early nominating contests — Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, South Carolina — an unprecedented achievement in a contested primary race. He heads into Super Tuesday on March 5, when a third of all delegates to the G.O.P. convention will be awarded, with “maximum velocity,” said the Republican governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, who endorsed Mr. Trump over his predecessor, Ms. Haley. WorkWorkWarren Buffett doesn’t trust pundits and more takeaways from his annual note to shareholders “At Berkshire, we have made a best estimate for the amount of losses that have occurred. These costs arose from forest fires, whose frequency and intensity have increased — and will likely continue to increase — if convective storms become more frequent. It will be many years until we know the final tally from [Berkshire Hathaway Energy]’s forest-fire losses and can intelligently make decisions about the desirability of future investments in vulnerable western states.” WorkRyanair warns of higher fares in summer due to lack of planes A spokesperson for Boeing said: \"We are communicating with customers that some delivery schedules may change as we take the necessary time to make sure that every airplane we deliver is high quality and meets all customer and regulatory requirements. WorkLeasehold flats: 'I wish I had never touched them' Steven Herd of MyLondonHome.com said abolishing leasehold and replacing it with commonhold - a system that would allow homeowners to collectively either manage their own apartment blocks or appoint a managing agent of their choice - rather than the freeholder\'s- would be give flat owners power over their own buildings. WorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWith Pandemic Money Gone, Child Care Is an Industry on the Brink In a survey released Sunday by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, over half of 3,815 child care owners or directors said they were enrolling fewer children than they were licensed for. But the success of CHAPEA (“Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog”) will hang on the precision with which it simulates the first human expedition to Mars — an eventuality that NASA expects to occur by 2040. WorkWorkIn Russia, Knowing That Her Son Is Dead, and Waiting for Him Anyway “I still go around town sometimes, with my eyes wide open, thinking maybe he’s sitting somewhere, but he doesn’t remember us, but maybe we’re there in his subconscious mind,” Ms. Seleznyova said in an interview late last year in her one-room apartment in Tolyatti, an industrial city on the Volga River that is home to Russia’s largest car manufacturer. WorkWorkWorkWorkFor Car Thieves, Toronto Is a ‘Candy Store,’ and Drivers Are Fed Up But all of these security gadgets, Mr. Wilson is convinced, will do no more than delay what seems inevitable: Toronto’s seasoned auto thieves won’t be deterred by the defensive gear, and they’ll make off with this Honda SUV just as they did with its predecessor — and its insurance replacement, which they returned to steal.
