John,
Under Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s leadership, we've seen unacceptable slower mail deliveries, soaring costs, and a detrimental impact on our right to vote by mail. Since 2020, DeJoy has imposed five rate increases, slashed jobs, and closed mail centers, exacerbating delays that affect us all.
The path to a stronger USPS lies in the hands of the USPS Board of Governors, the only body with the power to remove DeJoy.
We cannot stand by as prices continue to rise, more facilities face closure and additional jobs are cut, all under DeJoy's watch. The USPS is a lifeline for millions, essential for delivering medications, ballots, and keeping businesses and families connected.
That's why we're calling on President Biden to nominate two new public servants to this board – individuals committed to rectifying the USPS and expanding its crucial services.
Our call is echoed by over 80 members of the U.S. Congress, demonstrating widespread support for change. Even the committee overseeing the Postal Service has recognized the urgency of this moment, acknowledging that DeJoy's 10-year plan spells disaster for the USPS.
With new members on the USPS Board of Governors committed to public service and innovation, we can protect and expand USPS services, ensuring reliability and affordability for all.
We need to champion a revitalized USPS that prioritizes the needs of the American people over failed policies and leadership.
Stand with us as we urge President Biden to appoint new leaders who will challenge the status quo and advocate for a USPS that serves the common good. It's time for DeJoy to go, and for the USPS to thrive.
Tell President Biden to nominate new USPS Board of Governors members who will stand up to Louis DeJoy and advocate for the expansion of USPS services.
Together, we can fight for a postal service that truly delivers for every American.
