Donald Trump won the South Carolina GOP primary last night and is clearly positioned to become his party’s nominee. I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain what that means for the stakes of this race and, if you’re able, consider making a contribution to my campaign.

When I launched my campaign for reelection, I said that I believed every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. And that this was ours. That couldn’t be more true today.

We know who Donald Trump is, and we know what he does. Heck, we know that he is willing to sacrifice our democracy to put himself in power.

So, the question before us now is whether we’ll have more freedoms or fewer in the years ahead. More rights, or fewer. I know what I want the answer to be, and I think you do too.

He’s promised to gut Social Security, Medicare, and now the Affordable Care Act. He wants to cut taxes for the rich. Again.

The point is: Unlike Donald Trump’s campaign, this campaign is about all of us. It’s about OUR future together. And preserving and strengthening OUR democracy.

Six million grassroots donors invested in my campaign in 2020 so that we could defeat Donald Trump. We’ll need that same level of support to defeat him again this year.
