John, I just got back from traveling across western North Carolina.

One of my favorite parts of traveling across the state – other than talking with so many North Carolinians – is getting to eat at BBQ places everywhere I go![link removed] [[link removed]]

North Carolinians don’t agree on everything. We’ll fight over whether BBQ should be vinegar or tomato-based. We’ll commit to wearing Carolina blue, State red, or UNCC green. And we’ll argue over whether Cookout or Bojangles is the best place to get a quick bite.

But right now, we’re at risk of creating a much more serious divide. Extremist Republicans like my opponent, Mark Robinson, are threatening to separate us by preaching intolerance and hate.

Mark Robinson vilifies our public school teachers, calling them “wicked people.” He’s called LGBTQ+ North Carolinians “filth.” He’s labeled the Holocaust “hogwash.” And he’s called school shooting survivors “spoiled little b*stards.”
