John,

While many people celebrated the Chinese New Year, the Chinese Communist Party wass still up to its old tricks of using intimidation to silence those who speak out against them.

The Hong Kong police force issued arrest warrants for five pro-democracy activists, including Dissident Project speakers Joey Siu and Frances Hui. They also offered a bounty of HK$1 million per individual for information that could lead to their arrest under the National Security Law.

This is not an issue only happening in China. It’s happening here in the United States!

The CCP has been implanting many of their influences in different sectors all across America to crush democracy and freedom. They have Chinese outposts and lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill. All of these things are affecting American policies.

The CCP’s influence is all around us, and it’s going to get worse.

So, how can you and I fight back? By helping these pro-democracy activists share their stories.

The Dissident Project gives speakers who have lived under current and former authoritarian regimes a platform to share their experiences and perspectives.

Your generous support helps Dissident Project speakers take a stand against authoritarian countries like China. Please consider donating to the Dissident Project by clicking below.

This isn’t the first time the Chinese Communist Party has threatened Dissident Project speakers for speaking out against the CCP’s repression.

In the past, our speakers have been followed by Chinese agents while living in America. They have received death threats for their pro-democracy advocacy. Their families have been harassed, detained for questions, interrogated, and sometimes even tortured.

These arrest warrants are just the latest escalation in transnational repression against Hong Kongers, many of whom have faced attacks and harassment from the Chinese Communist Party and its agents across various jurisdictions.

The Hong Kong Government said in a statement,

“Fugitives should not have any delusion that they could evade legal liabilities by absconding from Hong Kong. Fugitives will be pursued for life unless they turn themselves in.”

So far, 260 people have been arrested under the National Security Law. And that number will continue to grow until we take a stand against China’s actions.

The Dissident Project and 86 Hong Kong civil society and human rights organizations from around the world signed a joint statement urging action in response to the latest round of Hong Kong National Security arrest warrants and bounties.

But one of the best ways you and I can support these brave pro-freedom activists is to give them the chance to share their experiences with as many people as possible.

That’s why I’m asking you to please donate $20.24, $50, $100, or any amount you can generously afford to get this story in front of people nationwide.

Can you imagine what it’s like to have a government place an international bounty on you while CCP operatives are free to walk around and harass dissidents in broad daylight on American soil?

It gives me chills just thinking about it.

But you and I can’t let the Chinese government silence these brave Dissident Project speakers from advocating for freedom and democracy.

Dissident Project speakers have the power to show Americans the true value of freedom, what can happen when it’s taken away, and what you have to risk to get it back.

So far, they’ve shared their stories with thousands of Americans through speaking engagements and media appearances.

And with your support, our speakers can reach even more people and tell them about the CCP’s actions.
