We’re making Michigan a megaphone for Peace.

Our Revolution is joined by Rashida Tlaib and former Congressman Andy
Levin in this call to get progressives to ‘Vote Uncommitted’ as a push for
Peace in the Michigan presidential primary on Feb. 27th.

We must send a clear message directly to the Biden campaign: Change course
NOW on Gaza or else risk losing Michigan to Trump in November.

“Our Revolution is throwing its weight behind the movement to vote
Uncommitted in Michigan’s Democratic primary, seeking to pressure
President Biden into changing his approach to the war between Israel and
Hamas,” wrote the [ [link removed] ]New York Times this week.

“It’s a strategic opportunity to send a signal to the president that he’s
got to change course,” Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph
Geevarghese told [ [link removed] ]CBS News.

This effort intends to “realign with the values of his base, including
young voters, voters of color, and Michigan’s significant Arab-American
population,” reported John Nichols in [ [link removed] ]The Nation.

“Months of protests and activism in cities across the country continue to
be ignored, and this latest veto (of the UN ceasefire resolution) shows
exactly why it’s imperative for voters to send a message to the Biden
administration at the ballot box,” Joseph told [ [link removed] ]The Hill.

“With just a few days until the Michigan primary vote, Biden’s blockade of
the cease-fire resolution will only intensify the outrage and galvanize
pro-peace voices to vote ‘uncommitted’ to make their voices heard,” Joseph
said.

Our Revolution organizers are making calls, sending texts, and emailing
our 87,000 members in Michigan — chip in so we can reach as many Michigan
voters as possible.

We have a shot to elect a true champion for Peace in Barbara Lee to the
U.S. Senate. Not only did she stand alone in Congress to vote against the
Iraq War, but she was one of the first to stand strong for a Ceasefire in
Gaza.

But, Barbara has been leading the charge on just about every progressive
issue from Day 1 — reproductive rights, healthcare for all, racial
justice, environment, poverty, and so much more.

She truly is the movement candidate in this race, and we are excited to
rally with her in a GOTV tour across California leading up to the last day
to vote on March 5th.

On Monday, we’ll be joining Barbara Lee and friends at Sweet’s Ballroom in
Oakland, CA for a major campaign rally that kicks off at 6:30 pm PST.

Barbara will also be rallying at 7pm PST tonight in Bakersfield,

We are proud of the strong and diverse multi-generational, multi-ethnic,

She is a strong advocate for single-payer universal healthcare, reducing
military spending, putting peace first, and lifting up priorities of
housing, reproductive justice, and more.

As Barbara said, “Lateefah is from the community and for the community.”

In California, Our Revolution is endorsing three great candidates to join
the Kern County Democratic Central Committee in District 3 — and make the
party more transparent and responsive to the grassroots.

Neel Sannappa is the chair of Our Revolution Kern County and has worked to
hold politicians accountable for voting against working families in Kern
County.

Megan Russell currently serves as a representative for ADEM AD35 and has
previously been the membership coordinator for Our Revolution Kern County.
Megan has lots of great experience in Community, Electoral, and Labor
Organizing and is currently an external Union Organizer with SEIU.

Ajaib Gill is a lawyer who is committed to criminal justice reform,
education, and our progressive platform. He would be a strong progressive
voice inside the party.
