With so much at stake for people with low incomes, communities of color, and immigrants, CLASP has been actively responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, just today we issued a statement about the CARES Act that passed unanimously last night by the U.S. Senate and released a fact sheet showing how the Act’s $3.5 billion in child care funds will be distributed to each state.

On April 7, CLASP will host the first of a 3-part webinar series titled Mind-Shift: Changing the Mental Health System to Better Serve Communities of Color about changing the narrative on racial equity. Isha Weerasinghe and Shiva Sethi will present and discuss common barriers to promote equity through policy, different ways of including people with lived experience in policymaking, and other policy strategies for promoting equity.
