Guess what today is? It’s my Aunt Jessie’s birthday! 🎈🍰

Aunt Jessie is my best friend and super cool – she likes to build Legos with me and go on scooter rides.  Last year she took me to see the planes and helicopters at CAL FIRE (the helicopters were cool, but I liked riding in the golf cart the best).  

She teaches me about lots of things like dinosaurs, fire fighting and even about voting! Last week, she showed me this thing called a ballot. That's a super-duper important piece of paper that can help her make important decisions and do things to help everyone. And guess what? Her name was on it because Aunt Jessie is running for Congress.  

I asked Aunt Jessie if my name was on the ballot too, and she said that someday, if I wanted to help keep people safe too, my name could be on the ballot. She says I can be anything: a firefighter, a teacher or even someone who makes laws! I told her that if I helped make laws, I would want to stop fires and make sure that people were nice to each other. That’s what Aunt Jessie is trying to do right now. 

And guess what else? It was my birthday last week –  I turned 7 years old.  Aunt Jessie made me my own chocolate cake and my grandpa gave me my own $50 check so I could buy a toy.  I was so excited!  I was going to buy a Lego set but I told Aunt Jessie I wanted her to have it so she could go to Congress. She said that was so kind of me, but she told me to keep my check because I’m still a kid and only grown-ups can donate to campaigns. 

But me and my baby sister Joya still want to help our Aunt Jessie. So, we have a special idea! Since you’re a grownup and it’s her birthday today, can you give her money? Maybe $50, like my birthday money, or any amount of bucks? It would be the best birthday surprise ever! [[link removed]]

Thanks for helping our Aunt Jessie win and making her birthday extra special! We're gonna shout and clap and dance when she wins Congress! And we’ll make sure she knows you helped.
