Building on the national AFL-CIO's call for a ceasefire, Labor for a Ceasefire, a group of seven big unions, 220 other locals and central labor councils, and two other groups, went public with its mass movement advocating a ceasefire in Palestine.

Top union leaders Shawn Fain of the UAW and Becky Pringle of the National Education Association, which had recently reaffirmed its ceasefire demand, exhorted unionists to organize workers — in and out of their own unions — to demand a ceasefire now.

Nine State and County Democratic Party Committees have also called for a ceasefire, including the Arizona, Hawai'i, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington State Democratic Parties.

 

National political support
