The Alabama Supreme Court decision -- twisting logic to somehow rule that frozen embryos are “extrauterine children” -- is yet another effort to undermine our fundamental right to abortion healthcare.

Politicians, and justices, who prevent women and doctors from having the medical option of performing a legal abortion are practicing medicine without a license. This is a health-based decision, not a political one.

I believe ensuring safe and legal access to abortion and reproductive healthcare is essential to protecting our fundamental rights. The law should allow for those politicians preventing access to this right to be sued for practicing medicine without a license -- as they are taking away the ability of doctors to protect the health of their patients and taking away the decision from women about their own health care.
