In case you missed it, Becca introduced legislation last week that offers creative policy solutions and big investments to alleviate the national housing crisis. Housing is at the center of so many of the challenges that we face in Vermont and states across the country. The Community Housing Act (CHA) is a big deal — and I want to tell you more about it!

If it becomes law, the CHA would…

• Invest over $500 billion in federal programs that fund affordable housing
• Ensure that affordable housing remains affordable through a community land trust
• Eliminate barriers to the construction of affordable housing
• Support renters by funding emergency rental assistance programs
• And so much more!

This bill is Becca’s first major piece of legislation as a freshman member of Congress, and if it becomes law, the CHA will change so many lives for the better.
