Dear friend,

This is a crisis of unparalleled proportion—there is no way around that fact. I have been working around the clock with Senators Pat Toomey and Bob Casey, my colleagues in the House, and members of the Administration to bring as much relief to as many Pennsylvanians as possible.

I am on my way back to Washington right now to cast a vote in favor of the stimulus bill agreed to by both sides in the last few hours to provide direct relief to Americans in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. There were, as expected, attempts made on both sides of the aisle to torpedo this bill. Particularly, some Republicans remain intent on blocking this legislation because they think its unemployment provisions are too generous. Others, still, are insisting on letting the Trump administration run amok with a $500 billion slush fund for giant corporations.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know where I stand: I will not approve something that does not provide direct relief to hardworking American families, nor will I support an unchecked fund for the Trump administration to send unlimited money to its corporate friends.

This bill is not perfect. It will, however, provide much-needed relief to the hospitals in our region—which are both our biggest health care providers and our biggest employers—and hardworking middle-class families. It extends unemployment benefits to millions of Americans, and provides protections for the many small businesses that form the backbone of my district.

I don’t believe in letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. And that is why I intend to vote for the stimulus bill. But some of my Republican opponents are already attacking me for doing what I think is right for the people of PA-07. And they are exploiting this time of need to accuse me of doing anything other than working for the needs of my constituents.

Friend, that is why I need your help. I hate to ask for anything campaign-related during this difficult time, but the fact of the matter is I need your continued support to fend off my Republican opponents and stay in Washington working for the people of PA-07.

Will you support my campaign before our next FEC filing on March 31, with a donation of $10? Any contribution you can offer will go a long way toward supporting our campaign’s efforts.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thanks for your consideration. Above all else, please remember to stay safe, stay inside, and stay healthy. And try to enjoy some time with your family.
