America is experiencing an invasion and the worst border crisis in our country’s history. Since Biden took office, over 8.7 million illegal aliens have crossed the southern border, and more than 6.2 million illegals have been caught and released into the interior of the United States. And that's just accounting for those we're aware of, excluding the 'got-aways'. The Biden Regime's negligence has handed operational control of our southern border to the cartels, resulting in an unprecedented surge in the trafficking of women and children. Worse yet, a record-breaking influx of deadly fentanyl is pouring through our borders, killing our kids and other family members. The sheer volume of fentanyl could kill every American 28 times over and has already claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans. The Biden Regime has refused to act on this issue, so I’ve taken matters into my own hands. For a complete list of my work to secure our southern border, click HERE.

Back in June of 2023, I made history by becoming the first Republican in 24 years to successfully initiate impeachment proceedings on the House floor against Joe Biden for his mishandling of the border crisis. Now, the time has come to address the actions of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
|
On February 13th, I voted, and the House of Representatives passed legislation to impeach Mayorkas for orchestrating the worst border crisis in American history and intentionally neglecting his most basic duties to protect the homeland and the American people. Since taking office in 2021, Mayorkas has facilitated an outright invasion at our southern border. In total, he has allowed over 8.7 million illegal border crossings, with 6.2 million of those having been released into the U.S. It’s now up to the Senate to conduct a trial and vote to oust this lying criminal!

I recently joined House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik and fellow House Republicans in a roundtable discussion about the Biden Border crisis. The roundtable featured Sheriff Michael Chapman, Sheriff from Loudoun County, Virginia, a Member of the National Sheriff Association; Anne Basham, Founder of the Interparliamentary Taskforce on Human Trafficking, and CEO of Ascend Consulting; and Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council.
|
Throughout this insightful roundtable, it was crystal clear that Joe Biden and Mayorkas' reckless, open-border policies are the root cause of this invasion. Experts, such as Brandon Judd, spoke in detail about how the Biden Regime’s failed policies are fueling this border crisis. He also reiterated what we’ve known for a while now—that the cartels have assumed operational control of our borders.
|
It’s time for Joe Biden to abolish his failed ‘catch and release’ policies and reinstate the Trump era policies that actually worked to secure our southern border. To watch the full roundtable, click HERE.

I came out in strong opposition to the Senate Amnesty Bill. This fundamentally flawed legislation would have shelled out another $60.06 billion to Ukraine. I am opposed to the U.S. sending any more of your hard-earned taxpayer money to Ukraine. Shockingly, the bill would have also provided taxpayer-funded lawyers for some illegals. This awful proposal would have also granted immediate work permits to all illegal aliens released within the United States. Additionally, the amnesty bill would have prevented illegals from being deported and even provided a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Thanks to the opposition of myself and other Freedom Caucus members, we were able to ensure this bill was dead on arrival if it somehow passed the Senate and was sent over to the House. I oppose amnesty in all forms and am doing everything in my power to end the Biden border invasion.
|
I voted against the 'Pelosi-Esque' Continuing Resolution. This flawed bill came at a time when our national debt exceeds $34 trillion, inflation is at its highest in 40 years, and the country is facing its worst-ever border crisis. Hard-working Americans are living paycheck to paycheck thanks to Bidenomics, struggling to afford basic expenses like groceries and rent. The American Dream of home ownership is out of reach for younger generations, with many choosing instead to live at home with their parents. Read more about this horrible spending bill and why I voted no HERE.

The House recently passed H.Res.957, which denounces the Biden administration’s open-border policies, condemns the national security and public safety crises along the southwest border, and demands that Joe Biden end his regime’s open-border policies. I was proud to vote in favor of this legislation!

I reintroduced the Fentanyl is a Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD) Act to protect our children and communities by classifying the deadly drug fentanyl as a WMD. In FY 2023, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 27,293 pounds of fentanyl coming across the southern border—enough to kill more than 6 billion people. In Colorado, there were over 1,800 deaths from lethal fentanyl overdoses in 2023, nearly double the record number set in 2022. It is time to call fentanyl what it is: a weapon of mass destruction that is destroying our nation.

I took a stand for Colorado’s farmers and ranchers by calling out U.S. Fish and Wildlife Director Martha Williams for her attempt to overpower state management of the gray wolves in the lower 48 states. Gray wolves are thriving and fully recovered. It's absurd that this species still enjoys taxpayer-funded protections under the Endangered Species Act. It's far past time the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service acknowledges the undeniable local recovery efforts and returns management back to the states.

On January 26th, the Biden Regime announced it was halting the permitting process for new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) exports following pressure from radical climate change activists seeking to abolish American energy production. In response to this tyrannical ruling, the House passed H.R. 7176, the Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act, to overturn the Biden Regime's freeze on new LNG export approvals. I am proud to have stood up for American energy and voted in favor of this legislation!
|
I was proud to join Congressman Matt Gaetz and 60 other Republicans for a press conference expressing our support for President Trump and slamming any attempts to remove him from the ballot. Ensuring the integrity of our elections is of the utmost importance. The radical left is interfering in yet another election by seeking to remove an opponent from the ballot, and they must be stopped by the Supreme Court.
|
Lastly, I am proud to announce that the House passed my CONVEY Act! This legislation reduces the federal footprint, creates jobs, and fosters long-term economic growth in a rural area. Before I took action, this conveyance had stalled for more than five years. Read more about the passage of my CONVEY Act HERE.

Following my attendance at the local Lions Club meeting and discussions with constituents about our casework process, my office received a case concerning an IRS matter. The constituent had applied for Employee Retention Credits nearly a year prior, in November 2022, and had not received any updates. During an IRS/TAS update on October 19th, we learned that there were over 849,000 pending ERC (Employee Retention Credit) cases, leading to a moratorium by the IRS and a halt in processing these cases. My office sprang into action and opened a case for the constituent, securing his place in the first batch of applications to be processed. As a result, the constituent/business received $175,832.39 in Employee Retention Credits just two months after reaching out to my office.
