Dear John,

This February marks two years since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since 2022, our UNHCR teams on the ground have rapidly expanded their operations to support people fleeing the war, along with others who have been displaced within the country.

Last year alone, we were able to support more than 2.6 million vulnerable people inside Ukraine.

With support from people like you([link removed]), we’ve distributed tones of emergency aid, including shelter repair kits to help people quickly repair their damaged homes after shelling, and have helped carry out thousands of home repairs. We’ve also provided legal aid and psychological counselling to help people suffering from the trauma of war, and we’ve given out cash assistance to enable families to buy the basics they need, be it food, medicine, winter clothing or energy to help them make it through the harsh winter.

"Received a stove with help from UNHCR and we are warm now, thanks to it"

For people like Tatiana (pictured, with one of her three young children), support from UNHCR is helping her rebuild her life after her village was occupied and her house was badly damaged. She is determined to repair her home, and strongly believes that her community will be able to recover one day.

But the war in Ukraine continues!

Humanitarian assistance – especially now, in the depths of winter – continues to be urgently needed. We will do everything in our power to help support families in Ukraine, but we cannot do it alone. Will you help the families in Ukraine?([link removed])
