Folks, before I ask for your support ahead of our end-of-month deadline, I want to explain why defending New Mexico’s Senate seat is so important. I’ve learned over the years that there are two kinds of people in politics: people who think having a title in front of their name makes them somebody and people who want to use their platform to make a difference. I’m in the Senate to make a difference. I never thought I’d get into politics, but I learned in the Albuquerque City Council that it’s a real opportunity to solve problems. After all, fixing things appeals to me as an engineer. We’ve fixed quite a bit under our Democratic Senate Majority — from making the largest climate investment in our nation’s history to slashing the costs of lifesaving prescription drugs. But we have more challenges ahead to tackle, and we won’t fix those challenges by sitting around on our hands. We’ll fix them by rolling up our sleeves and working together. That’s what a grassroots movement like ours does. But the reality is that Mitch McConnell and his allies have recruited self-funding multi-millionaires to try to unseat Democrats like me in key states, including New Mexico.
