This month’s WFP Assembly will feature Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and Sara Nelson
Working Families Party

John,

On the last Sunday of each month, we join together for the WFP Assembly, a virtual gathering where we connect with one another, build community, and discuss the challenges we collectively face.

This month, the WFP Assembly is more important than ever. As our nation grapples with the COVID-19 epidemic, many have suddenly lost jobs, safety and security, health or the health of loved ones, and a sense of community as we practice social distancing to keep each other safe.

We know that many are scared or frightened, and are looking for ways to help. So we’ve invited two people who have been strong advocates for keeping working families safe: Physician, epidemiologist, and public health expert Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA Sara Nelson to join us at this month’s WFP Assembly on Sunday. We will also extend our breakout session on this month’s Assembly, so that all of our members will have the opportunity to talk and connect with one another.

Will you join us for the WFP Assembly, this Sunday, March 29th at 8pm ET/5pm PT? All you need to join this virtual gathering is a phone or a computer.

As a physician who previously served as Detroit’s Health Commissioner, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed has experience rebuilding his city’s health department after it was privatized during municipal bankruptcy. And Sara Nelson, who represents 50K airline workers, is working on the front lines to ensure that any bailout of the airline industry maintains conditions to avoid massive layoffs and furloughs.

Both Abdul and Sara have been on the frontlines of this crisis, advocating for a federal response that invests in working people, not corporations — and demanding the type of bold, structural reforms that help make America a nation for the many, not the few.

We also want to hear from you, John, to see how you and your community are holding up in these trying times.

So please join us this Sunday, March 29th at 8pm ET/5pm PT for our monthly WFP Assembly, and let’s build this community together.

Radical solidarity has never been more important. We hope you can join us on Sunday.

Until then,

Team WFP
